European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS)

The Legacy Heritage Fellowship is looking for the best and the brightest of those individuals interested in a career in government, international relations, public policy, Middle East policy, Israel advocacy, politics, the media, etc. The international program aims at creating future influential leaders and opinion makers dedicated to helping Israel in a meaningful way.

The Fellowship places exceptional applicants in North America, Europe and Israel in a year-long paid fellowship with major organizations, think tanks, NGO’s and media settings supporting pro-Israel policy. Fellows are given positions in the countries in which they currently reside and are mentored by senior executives in their placements. In addition to their ongoing professional development (including monthly conference calls, newsletters and regular communication with their peers), the Fellows attend three educational conferences held in Israel, Europe and the United States. The conferences include outstanding speakers, significant networking opportunities, skills training, workshops and excursions. The Fellows also implement a Middle East Public Service Initiative that they design and execute during the Fellowship year.

The deadline for applications is February 2, 2009. All relevant information is available on our web site at: www.legacyheritage.org

PAIDEIA

Paideia - the European Institute for Jewish Studies in Sweden is currently encouraging applications for the 2009/2010 scholarships for its one-year program in Stockholm.

We have earmarked special scholarships for your European students, and in order to reach Jewish European students, we would very much like to advertise Paideia in the EUJS website. We hope to have your collaboration by indicating the procedure to do so. Also, we would be very grateful if you could perhaps forward this message to potential students that would make good candidates for studies at our institution. A promotion flyer is also attached for your convenience. I kindly ask you to distribute it through your networks.

Dedicated to the revival of European Jewish culture, PAIDEIA is an institute of higher Jewish learning with an academic focus on textual sources.

Coupled with the intensive studies, PAIDEIA is also an applied institute, enabling each of the 25 fellows to integrate the Jewish studies into their own fields of expertise and empowering them to return and strengthen the Jewish voice in their home countries.

Candidates should have the following qualities:
Commitment to the revival of European Jewish culture
Intellectual curiosity and documented academic experience
Interpersonal and leadership skills

No prior study experience in Jewish text is required.

In addition to the 2009/2010 fellowships for Jewish Studies, Paideia offers a summer program for Jewish Community entrepreneurs - the PAIDEIA PROJECT INCUBATOR. The PAIDEIA PROJECT INCUBATOR is a ten day interactive workshop conducted each summer. The Incubator seeks to enable activists who have acquired knowledge of Jewish content to develop and implement new initiatives in the communities.

To APPLY, email info@paideia-eu.org or apply directly at www.paideia-eu.org

Deadline for early application is January 15, 2009
